THE CAROUSEL OF COINCIDENCE C2R1
THE CAROUSEL OF COINCIDENCE
Orbiting life from within, the Carousel of Coincidence counts how many times the same thing happens, and of course the same thing can never really happen but it can, and repetitious cycles are not spirals, she is indeed confident that they are circles, and if not circles then spirals going around in the form of a circle. And be it a planet of atoms, or a pattern of Saturns, a season with no reason or recycled eyeball spasms, she’s seen it all before, and therefor (in the wisdom of Madga Gaska) can predict it all too. Do not get on her bad side.
RIDE OPERATOR WHEREABOUTS: The everlasting monkey Whereabouts was the only one who wouldn’t feel dizzy when operating the Carousel. Whereabouts sits on the very top of the carousel, eating pink cashews and asking questions from his deck that he keeps in a gold carousel horse’s mouth.
And he understands coincidence so well, after being taught for years and years to notice everything from his best friend, Madga Gaska from THE PAST LIFE LIBRARY series. He sings:
“You know those days,
When things come your way,
That you’d already been thinking of?
You sang that song,
Then it came along.
On the radio, just because?
Or have you ever found,
A certain thing ,
Again and again and again…
What does it mean?
Co-incidence.
It’s a language to learn, and then,
Once you start to see the patterns,
And signs and love and glitz,
You see your life around you,
Light up like a firework kiss.
And when you can read the magic,
You can turn all your days,
Into a supernatural carnival,
Pulled through the purple haze,
The Not-Words-Of-The-Once-Weres,
Will always talk to you,
So keep your eyes open,
For a Co-incidence or two.”
